Midori Hirota, one of Japanese artists lives in Yogyakarta will held an exhibition program titled " Memory of Asia" at the B building, Selasar Sunaryo Art Space on May 8th - May 23, 2009. This exhibition tells about Japanese Colonialism in Indonesia and Philipines. This project contains documentations, interviews and object installation for her "barter" activities within 2 countries, who felt the Japanese colonialism. She also interviewed Japanese soldiers who involved in the occupation in Asia at that time. This program is supported by The Japan Foundation, Pola Art Foundation, TONYRAKA Art Gallery, Higure 17-15cas contemporary art studio and Selasar Sunaryo Art Space.
