2009 Renderosity Graphics Contest

About
Since 2001, we have invited members of the Renderosity community to help us evolve creatively by holding our Graphics Design Contest! We hold this contest every two years to give Renderosity a fresh, artistic look. We are looking for talented artists within our community who can create a graphics set that is both eye-catching and distinct.

This a great opportunity to create a portfolio worthy piece that will be seen by the international digital artist community. The winning entry will also win $500 USD!

What will the judges be looking for in a winning entry? It will need to blend well with Renderosity site colors, and needs to represent Renderosity professionally. It will also convey a tight-knit community feel in a crisp, high quality image. Entries that include the Renderosity Cirle R logo are encouraged.

Make sure to read through all of this information CAREFULLY before submitting your entry. There are several pieces we are looking for in this graphics set, and we have provided a sample layout, font set and logo images for you below. You can also take a look at previous years' winners to get an idea of the artistic excellence we are looking for in this contest.

Contest Dates
Starts: Monday, April 27, 2009
Closes: Friday, June 5, 2009.

Entries must be timestamped by Friday, June 5, 2009, 12:00p.m. [Noon] (Renderosity Server Time - Central Standard Time), or cannot be accepted.
Community voting*: Saturday, June 6th - Tuesday, June 16th. (The top 25 highest voted entries will move on the the Admin voting phase.)
Admin voting: Wednesday, June 17, 2009 - Monday, June 22, 2009
The Winner will be announced: Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

NOTE about Community Voting: Only one vote per person allowed. No clone votes from the same IP address will be allowed. Votes from accounts created during the voting dates, or created for the sole purpose of voting will not be allowed. Community voting results will be reviewed and adjusted accordingly to accurately represent the desires of the community as a whole. The official "Top 25" community votes will be posted Wednesday, June 17th. The winner will be posted Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

Contest Rules

Open to all Renderosity members with the exception of Admins and Bondware employees. (Mods and Coords may participate.)
Images may have squared, or curvilinear edges.
Open to all software and photography.
Still images only, no animated entries.
All works must be original.
One entry per person.
Postwork is allowed.
No Nudity.
Design must be complimentary with the Renderosity site colors! Examples of Color Codes are #475B73 (R71 G91 B115), #485C74 (R72 G92 B116) A helpful tool to see color codes IE Developer Toolbar !
Your image must use the "Renderosity font", with the registered trademark symbol included.

Thumbnail Image: MUST be included 100x100 maximum, in jpg or gif format, 72dpi.
Entry image size Must be Exactly [72dpi-RGB-jpg], 1008 pixels (width) x 800 pixels (height).

It is recommended that you create the 300dpi versions first (using the dimensions above).
save the 300dpi versions with a file name of RenderosityGraphics_1_300dpi. (for example).

Then resize the images to 72dpi (with the dimensions below).
Save the 72dpi versions with a file name of RenderosityGraphics_1_72dpi. (for example).

Legal Stuff

The contest winner grants Renderosity exclusive rights and permission to feature their images at various locations on Renderosity, other websites, printed materials and all other media. Signature of the artist on the Header logo and Art image will be added once the winner is selected. The winner will be entered into our Journey - Renderosity Logos area for historical representation. The winning images will be displayed, but may not necessarily be exclusively used. By submitting your entry into this contest you are granting Renderosity the right to retain your entry in its archive and to display the entry within this community as a part of this contest.

Renderosity will retain the exclusive right to use the winning entry only. Renderosity does not seek to retain the copyrights of additional submissions, however, the Renderosity registered trademark name cannot be copyrighted, nor featured within the image, by artists entering the contest, other than for entries to this specific contest. In other words, artists [other than the artist of the winning entry] retain the copyright to their image, but do not have permission to display the Renderosity logo within their image, other than for this specific contest.
