WARRENTON, Va., July 18, 2007 – SPEC’s Application Performance Characterization (SPECapc) project group has released updated performance evaluation software for systems running Autodesk 3ds Max 9.
The new version updates run rules and code from the previous 3ds Max benchmark for use with 3ds Max 9. SPECapc for 3ds Max 9 takes advantage of models and functionality introduced last August as a result of cooperative efforts among Autodesk Corp., independent 3ds Max animators, and SPECapc members. It will enable vendors, users and testing labs to evaluate performance of the latest hardware systems running Autodesk 3ds Max 9.
“We were able to make this update quickly because of the major release last year of an entirely new 3ds Max benchmark,” says Dan Bennett, SPECapc chair. “We’ll continue to look for new models and workflows that reflect the day-to-day work of 3ds Max users.”
Available nowSPECapc for 3ds Max 9 is available for free downloading on the SPEC web site: www.spec.org/gpc. The SPECapc group also provides free benchmarks for systems running Autodesk Maya 6.5, Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 2.0, SolidWorks 2007, UGS Solid Edge V19, and UGS NX 3.
