Estemmenosuchus, means "Crowned Crocodile", a genus of large omnivorous or mammal-like reptile (not a dinosaur). Lived during the Middle Permian period (255 million years ago). It was the largest animal of its day which is up to 4 m (13 feet), characterised by distinctive horns-like structures, probably for intra-specific display. These species of Estemmenosuchus are known, both from the Perm region of Russia.
